Miranda Kerr has spoken for the first time since being injured in a car accident

Miranda Kerr has reassured her fans that she's on the mend after she was injured in a car crash.

The model, who fronts campaigns for Mango and Victoria's Secret, spoke for the first time since the accident happened in Los Angeles.

Writing on her Twitter account, she thanked her fans for their well wishes and said: 'Thank you all for your love and support. I am on the mend!'

Miranda, 29, had been spotted out and about in LA sporting a neck brace following the accident. She was reportedly travelling with her assistant when the car they were in was struck by another vehicle.

Speaking to Australia's 9 News, Miranda's spokesperson, Annie Kelly, confirmed that the model had been injured: 'She is in a lot of pain, but really we are just glad it was not more serious.'

Kelly added that the model's husband, Orlando Bloom, had been looking after Miranda at their LA home, she said: 'He's taking very good care of her. He's an amazing husband. Luckily, Flynn wasn't in the car.'
