Girls, our new favourite show, has just given us another gift, adding to the extensive collection of laughs and heart-felt moments, as we take an exclusive peek at the cast’s original audition tapes.

In this featurette we discover Zosia Mamet’s (Shoshanna) first reading as well as finding out how Allison Williams (Marnie) was spotted by Girls co-creator Judd Aptow after she put a video on YouTube singing the Mad Men theme tune.

GIRLS: WHICH ONE ARE YOU?

Girls writer Lena Dunham cant help but praise her talented colleagues telling her co-creator, Judd: ‘The cast were the most amazing part of the process [of creating Girls]. We had a group of girls that made sense to each other but diverse enough that there was something for everyone. Their energies gave you constant opportunities for comedy.’

While the script is brilliant, part of the humour comes from instant creativity, as Lena revealed: ‘We improvise, the girls have their moments of lucidity but it's also important to note that we do not have total control to endorse all of the decisions they are making.’
