Obama supporters including Lady Gaga, Eva Longoria, Will.I.Am and Kelly Rowland took to Twitter to show their excitement that Barack Obama would be returning to the White House for a second term.

BEYONCE'S LAST ATTEMPT TO HELP 'INSPIRATIONAL' PRESIDENT OBAMA

President Barack Obama's celebrity fan club joined in the President-elect's victory celebrations early this morning after it was revealed that he had defeated Republican Mitt Romney and will be heading back to the White House for another four years.

An excited, pink-haired Lady Gaga posted a pic of herself celebrating with pals, captioned: 'We just couldn't be happier my goodness, the joy when freedom prevails,' while fervent Obama campaigner Eva Longoria shared a snap from her election results party with her hands raised in celebration.

The former Desperate Housewife wrote: 'We did it!!! Obama re-elected!!!!! Yes!! Yes We Can! Barack Obama re-elected as 44th President of the USA!!!! Go @BarackObama !!!! Me and my friends celebrating! I'm on tears [sic]! Moving the country forward!!! Obama!!!'

Other celebrity Obama fans including Kelly Rowland and Will.I.Am also shared their happiness at Obama's win with Twitter followers, with Rowland posting a pic of herself making a two-fingered salute with the phrase: '2 Terms!!!!! #Obama.'

Will.I.Am told his fans: 'All that travel, hard work and campaigning was worth it...and now its time to work even harder...

'Thanks mama for raising me the way you did...from the ghetto to backstage 2012 @BarackObama re-elect.'

Other celebrities rejoicing in the victory included Zoe Saldana, Aisha Tyler and Olivia Wilde, who posted: 'AMERICA! You have spoken! Women! You have been heard! Young people! You proved them wrong! Tireless Obama volunteers! I THANK YOU!'

Obama has had the Hollywood set behind him his whole re-election campaign, with stars including Katy Perry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Beyonce and Jay-Z, Sarah Jessica Parker and Scarlett Johansson all rallying to his cause. Whatever your political preferences, one thing's for sure. Obama back in the White House means four more years of fabulous Michelle Obama style. Bring it on!
