VIDEO: Scarlett Johansson and Eva Longoria slam Mitt Romney's plans for women's rights

By Suzannah Ramsdale - Wednesday 17 October 2012

Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington feature in a election video slamming presidential candidate Mitt Romney's stance on women's rights.

The advert was directed by Rob Reiner, the Oscar-nominated director behind such films as The Princess Bride, Misery, and This is Spinal Tap.

In the video, the A-listers urge people to vote for Barack Obama because is opponent, Romney, has proposed to remove funding from Planned Parenthood, a women's health group who's services include abortions.

In a statement accompanying the video's release, Reiner wrote that Romney and running mate Paul Ryan would 'eviscerate women's rights' if they were elected in November.

'We'd be talking about getting rid of abortion, birth control, access to health care screenings. As a husband, son and father, I can't stand by and let this happen,' Reiner wrote.
