Victoria Beckham told Cheryl Cole she was 'happy to be thin,' and says she has become hardened by her life under the scrutiny of the media.
In Cheryl's tell-all autobiography the singer opens up on her brief friendship with the fashionista during the 2006 World Cup, revealing how Posh Spice learned to 'cope' with her miserable reputation.
‘How do I cope? I cope because I have to, because it’s the way my life is,' Cheryl quotes Victoria as saying.
‘I’m hardened to it. I know how I’m perceived is not how I am, and that’s what matters,' Victoria also confides.

Cheryl recalls the fashion designer discussing her size zero frame, explaining: ‘When they say, I’m too thin, I just think: 'You know what? I’m happy to be thin.
'I’m into fashion and I like being able to wear whatever I like. It’s my business, and if other people don’t like it, that’s their business.'
Proving to be quite the read, in the autobiography Cheryl also reveals that Victoria was so desperate not to be seen smiling that she used to hold ‘her handbag up over her mouth’ when she laughed.
