Keira Knightley bids farewell to stunning Anna Karenina dress as she hands it to the V&A

By Rebecca Twomey - Wednesday 10 October 2012

Keira Knightley can wear almost any look, but she certainly pulls off period fashion with aplomb. This was all the more evident with her role in the recent film adaptation of Anna Karenina, although she’s having to bid farewell to one of her favourite costumes as it goes on display at the V&A museum in London.

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY TOLD OFF FOR POUTING IN ANNA KARENINA

Yesterday (Tuesday) Keira posed alongside the stunning silk creation as she parted ways with the dress, allowing the designer, Jacqueline Durran, to say her goodbyes too.

The newly-engaged actress certainly did the piece proud as she posed alongside it in a similar burgundy shade with a cream blouse and black opaques.

The long sleeves, ruffle finish at the back, and huge skirt make this a masterpiece, so it’s no surprise, then, that Keira was keen to allow film and fashion fans to view the frock in the flesh.

The piece will now form part of the upcoming Hollywood Costume exhibition at the museum that will chart the wardrobes of some of the most iconic characters on the silver screen from the last century.
