Daniel Radcliffe may no longer be working with his former and very famous Harry Potter co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, but he’s found a new name to share some of his most awkward on-screen moments with. And the fortunate actor is Mad Men’s Jon Hamm.
In the upcoming Sky Arts drama, The Young Doctor’s Notebook, Daniel plays the younger version of a Russian medic whose older self is portrayed by Jon. The duo share a lot of scenes together, with one happening to be in the bath.
Speaking about this moment Daniel told us: ‘Yes, I was actually in the bath with him. I know I was the envy of every woman ever!
‘Whenever you have a bath scene you think ‘oh good’ but then you forget that the water gets cold.’
DANIEL RADCLIFFE’S DRAMATIC NEW MAKEOVER
Unsurprisingly this is the most poignant part of the four part series based on the Russian comedy by Mikhail Bulgakov, and Jon mentioned it via a letter he read out at the exclusive screening at the Soho Hotel, London, on Saturday evening.
Jon said: ‘I wish most of all I could once again be sitting next to Daniel, my comrade in arms, discussing our scene when we bathed together.'
Their mutual respect for things outside of the tub, was evident too with Daniel praising Jon’s British accent saying: ‘He’s great, he’s everything, funny, incredibly personable. Jon asked me to record all of his lines so he’d have me saying them on tape. At that point you shut up and hope for the best, luckily he [his accent] was great.'
The Young Doctor’s Notebook begins on Sky Arts 1 on 6 December at 9pm
