Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow attend London fundraiser for Obama

By Suzannah Ramsdale - Thursday 20 September 2012

Following in the footsteps of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who had thrown a lavish bash for Barack Obama in New York 24 hours previously, Gwyneth Paltrow hosted her own fundraising event for the President.

With the help of Tom Ford and Anna Wintour, the Hollywood actress helped host an Obama Victory Fund 2012 event at the exclusive Mark's Club in London on Wednesday night.

The 39-year-old was joined by fellow A-lister Cameron Diaz at the soire, which saw guests paying up to £24,000 for a ticket.

Both stars looked stunning, with Gwyneth in a figure-skimming white pencil dress and black velvet heels, and Cameron rocking a dusty pink trouser suit.

At Tuesday night's fundraiser in NYC at the 40/40 club, Barack Obama gushed over his celebrity hosts, Jay-Z and Beyonce, and said: 'To Jay and Bey, thank you so much for your friendship.

'Beyoncé could not be a better role model for my girls because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent.'

The events have been thrown to help raise funds to ensure secure victory for Obama in the November Presidential elections.
