Amy Winehouse’s family have bid a final farewell to the iconic singer as they buried her ashes yesterday, with a pink and black headstone placed in her memory.
Approximately 70 mourners gathered to pay homage to the star who died last July from alcohol poisoning.

The Back to Black singer’s ashes were interred next to a dedicated memorial plot which will be marked with a single rose.
Amy’s family also arranged for a black headstone to be placed on the site, bearing pink writing along with a picture of a songbird. The stone also honours Amy’s grandmother, Cynthia Levy.
During the Jewish ceremony held in Edgware, North London, Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, said he wanted everyone to remember his daughter’s ‘short but dynamic’ life.

Last Friday marked what would have been Amy’s 29th birthday and her family were keen to speak to her fans, which they did via the Amy Winehouse Foundation website, writing: ‘Today marks what would have been the 29th birthday of Amy Winehouse.
‘Whilst the world continues to mourn the loss of a true superstar, her family - first and foremost - remember the daughter, niece and sister that is no longer with them.’
