Her pillowy lips have become something of a trademark, but that didn't stop Anna Karenina director Joe Wright telling Keira Knightley to tone down her pout whilst shooting the epic love story film.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, Wright reveals how he instructed the British actress not to pout on camera and to try to stop the habit of sticking out her chin whilst filming the big screen adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel, which also stars Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
He said: 'Thing is, her lips naturally pout so the poor girl probably has to pull them in a bit.’

Despite her troublesome lips, the director went on to talk about his great working relationship with the London-born star, whom he also directed in 2007's award-winning Atonement and his version of Pride and Prejudice two years earlier.
'I love working with Keira,’ he says. ‘She’s incredibly brave. And she’s not vain. A lot of actors want to be loved and play nice people all the time. Keira isn’t afraid of an ambivalent reaction. I really admire that about her.'
Anna Karenina hits UK cinema screens today.
