Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have cancelled their appearances at the upcoming Twilight events

Both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have cancelled their appearance at the official Twilight conventions, in the wake of Kristen's cheating scandal.

The co-stars were scheduled to attend the four fan conventions, hosted by Creations Entertainment, but have pulled out, as has the franchise's other big name, Taylor Lautner.

In a statement, Creations Entertainment said: 'The passion and dedication of Twilight fandom has been amazing and we're out to throw one last giant convention, a final gathering to see old friends that have made up the Twilight family.

'Although Rob, Kristen and Taylor will not be with us this time out we will have a super line-up of other Twilight stars and the weekend will be filled with special events, movie prop and costume displays, contests, panels, auctions, parties, exclusive merchandise, music and much more, including some surprises!'

The event is set to run on 25 August, 29 September, 5 October and 3 November at a number of American cities.

Having had to publicly apologise for cheating on Robert Pattinson with married director Rupert Sanders, Kristen has refused to attend several events over the last few weeks, while R-Patz has valiantly continued with his promotional appearances for new movie Cosmopolis.
