Kate Middleton has been given a large cheque for £300,000 as a token of gratitude from Buckingham Palace for letting them borrow her wedding dress for its summer exhibition last year.
The grand sum of money is winging its way to the newly named Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry - the name was changed last week to incorporate Kate Middleton's input.

As a thank-you for letting Buckingham Palace use her stunning Alexander McQueen wedding dress as the main exhibit at its summer opening last year, The Royal Collection have donated £300,000 to the charity.
The gown, designed by Sarah Burton, helped to raise more than £10 million in ticket sales, which was an increase of £3.5 million on the year before.

Kate Middleton's addition to the Royal family has done much to boost takings, with sales of merchandise in the palace's shops reaching £3.87 million, an increase of almost £1.7million.
'Unprecedented numbers came to see the Duchess’s wedding dress,' said Jonathan Marsden, the director of the Royal Collection.
