Katie Holmes has been taking the final steps to remove herself from her marriage to Tom Cruise by reportedly rejecting Scientology and registering with a Catholic church.
According to a new report, Katie has stepped away from Tom's controversial religion, Scientology, and has formally confirmed her return to Catholicism by signing up to the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York.
KATIE HOLMES TO GET FULL CUSTODY OF SURI?
One member of the church choir expressed their excitement following Katie's decision and told the Huffington Post: 'Everyone is thrilled to have Katie join us. She has not yet attended a service, but when she does she will be welcomed with open arms.'
Katie's decision is a final step to distance herself from Scientology and a possible sign that Katie's and Tom's six-year-old daughter, Suri, will follow in the actress' Catholic footsteps.
According to reports, the Dawson's Creek star doesn't want Suri to have anything to do with Scientology.
'Katie made sure that this was ironclad in the agreement,' a source told Radar Online.
