Beyonce has revealed how she whipped her body back into shape for comeback concert in Atlantic City

She didn’t really look like she had a lot to lose anyway, but Beyonce Knowles has opened up on the secret to regaining her pre-baby figure in time for her comeback concert this weekend in Atlantic City.

No gimmicks, no fad diets, the superstar singer has revealed that she has spent months following the birth of Blue Ivy losing the extra weight the hard way.

Beyonce Knowles, who gave birth to her daughter in January, told the crowd in New Jersey that she lost 60 pounds in preparation for the gig by running and eating lettuce.

She said: ‘Y'all have no idea how hard I worked! I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!’

It’s clearly paid off, with the new mum looking in tip-top shape in a series of skimpy showgirl-esque stage outfits – all designed by London-based Ralph & Russo – at the concert at Revel Beach’s Ovation Hall.

The high-octane set saw Beyonce perform all of her biggest hits, as well as pay tribute to the late Whitney Houston and Donna Summer with a cover of I Will Always Love You and a rendition of her own song, Naughty Girl, which features a riff from the latter’s Love to Love You Baby.

The show also featured an appearance from baby Blue Ivy too, in a video projected onto a giant screen showing mother and daughter having a cuddle.

A number of Beyonce’s close family and friends were spotted in the 5,000 strong crowd, including Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama and, of course, husband Jay-Z who tweeted from the show: ‘I’m gonna say this and then I’m gonna end mine. Beyonce is the best performer in the world. Period.’

All together now: aaahhh.
