Kate Middleton has wowed in array of designer gowns - from Jenny Packham to Emilia Wickstead - in recent weeks, eschewing her usually conservative styling for an array of eye-catching colours and designs.
And according to insiders, the Duchess of Cambridge's adventurous forays into fashion are all her own doing, and the result of a wardrobe makeover and her growing confidence in the public eye.
'High-level glamour is becoming more of the norm for Kate due to her role,' Kate Middleton's stylist pal Nikki Pennie, revealed to American magazine People.
'She is becoming more playful, putting her hair in gorgeous updos to complement certain dresses. She is clearly enjoying the process and becoming more confident.'
According to sources, Kate has masterminded her fashion transformation single handedly, shopping for all her own clothes (she was spied browsing the rails in French Connection in London last week), without the help of a stylist or any free designer goodies.
Insiders have also revealed Kate Middleton does all her own make-up, but relies on the help of hairdressers-to-the-stars Richard Ward to help her get red-carpet ready.
'She is becoming more and more confident, which I think is exciting to see,' says Stewart Parvin, couturier to the Queen, revealed of People of Kate's evolving style.
'The way she does her hair, the way she does her makeup is getting better and better and she has this new inner glow.'
