Shop staff on London's swanky King's Road got a little more than they bargained for when Kate Middleton popped in during a recent outing in the area.
The Duchess of Cambridge visited her her local French Connection store for a sales splurge earlier this week, but far from phoning ahead, 'smiley' Kate arrived with just two security officers in tow, and chatted with staff as she tried things on in the changing room.
According to workers at the store, Kate Middleton was 'very polite' and even asked their opinion on her potential purchases.
'She was very polite. She keeps to herself' one member of French Connection staff told American magazine People.
'She was chatting to one of my colleagues in the fitting room, asking her opinion about something.'
'Some customers did notice her, although I didn’t at first,' she added.
After browsing the rails, Kate headed to the changing room, where there were no diva demands there, either.
'She didn’t ask anyone to fetch it for her, she just seemed to want to be low key,' the worker said it her item, adding: 'she was very cheery, very smiley.'
Ahead of her outing with Prince William and Prince Harry to the Audi Polo Challenge, the Duchess treated herself to French Connection's Winter Silk Vest Top in Iceberg for a positively bargainous £49.
The 30-year-old was also spotted browsing in Jaeger and boutique store Anthropologie.
