Whitney Houston drowned in the bath after suffering a massive heart attack following years of cocaine abuse, a coroner has confirmed.
The tragic singer had traces of cocaine, marijuana and the prescription drugs Xanax, Flexiril and Benadryl in her system when she drowned in a hotel bathtub, an inquest has ruled.
After years of battling her drug addictions, the 48-year-old singer suffered a massive heart attack and was found slumped dead in the bath at her suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel on the eve of the Grammy awards on February 11.
Following the ruling, Houston's family have released a statement that says: 'We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.'
