Jennifer Hudson reveals grief over Whitney Houston's death

Jennifer Hudson has spoken of her grief over Whitney Houston’s death, revealing she has been in floods of tears ever since hearing the sad news.

In a statement to American magazine Us Weekly, the singer, who paid tribute to Whitney during a special performance at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, revealed: ‘It was the greatest honour of my life to be able to be the one to pay tribute to Whitney's memory.

‘It was from my heart. I haven't stopped crying since she passed. Her family is in my prayers.’

This comes just hours after police confirmed Houston was ‘underwater and unconscious’ when she was found in the bath of her luxury hotel suite in the early hours of Sunday morning.

‘She was underwater and apparently unconscious,' Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen said in a statement.

‘Ms Houston was pulled from the tub by members of her staff and hotel security was promptly notified.’

Today the singer’s body arrived home in New Jersey, where it was transported to a funeral home in a golden hearse.

It’s thought a funeral will be held on Friday.
