Russell Brand has shown his generous side by kindly giving a wad of cash to a homeless man in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old was strolling through upmarket area of Beverly Hills when he bumped into the less fortunate man and wasted no time in handing him a substantial amount of money.

Brand then made sure that his friend donated some of his spare cash as well.

What a kind soul!

His charitable act will do wonders for his public image, which has taken a bit of a beating since he announced he was divorcing his wife of 14 months, Katy Perry.

The comic has since been accused of moving on too quickly by dating other women and even badmouthing his Perry to his dates.
