Adele: 'He's divorced, not married'

Adele has denied reports that her new boyfriend is still married in statement on her official website.

She normally refuses to comment on rumours surrounding her relationships but superstar Adele has shot down reports her new beau Simon Konecki is still married.

Uncharacteristically, Adele addressed the issue on her website: 'This is the first and last time I will comment on the details of my relationship with Simon,' the singer, 23, wrote.

'Contrary to reports and headlines in the press today, Simon is divorced and has been for four years.

'Everyone in our lives separately and together wish us nothing but the best, and vice versa. These are the facts.'

'Take care and see you all in February xx,' she added - referring to her return to the spotlight next month when she's expected to attend the Brits and the Grammys, as well as doing an arena tour.

Adele is said to be smitten with Simon, who is 14 years her senior, after they were introduced to each other by singer Ed Sheeran a couple of months ago.

Previously it had been reported that the Old Etonian entrepreneur was still in the process of divorcing his fashion stylist wife Clary Fisher, who he wed in 2004. The couple have a five year old daughter.
