Kirsten Dunst's stalker given a three-year restraining order

By Jenna Gregory  on Tuesday 10 January 2012

Kirsten Dunst's stalker has been given a restraining order and told to stay away from the actress for the next three years.

Kirsten Dunst may look happy from the outside, with a potential new romance with actor Garrett Hedlund, but beneath the Hollywood glamour the star has been troubled by a stalker.

Jean Christophe Prudhon, a 51-year-old man from France, is believed to have flown to the US on multiple occasions just to sit outside Kirsten's house.

The obsessive fan has also written to Kirsten over 50 times, tried to call her hundreds of times, and even contacted her mother, who is now also protected under the restraining order.

The court heard that in one of Prudhon's letters he claimed he sold his house in France to follow the actress on a permanent basis.

Under the order, given by Los Angeles Judge Carol Boas Goodson, Prudhon must remain 100 yards away from Kirsten at all times.

The Marie Antoinette actress did not attend the proceedings but the 29-year-old wrote in a sworn declaration that she finds Prudhon 'frightening and harassing'.
