Sarah Harding: Boyfriend grabbed me by the throat

By Suzannah Ramsdale  on Thursday 5 January 2012

Sarah Harding has opened up about a violent argument with her ex-boyfriend, Theo De Vries.

In an interview with The Sun, the Girls Aloud singer accused the Dutchman of pulling her by the hair, biting her ear and trying to smear blood over her face on their skiing holiday in Innsbruck, Austria.

She said: 'I have a black eye and bruising. He had me by the neck, on the floor.

The 30-year-old added: 'I've got bruises on my bum. Bruises on my legs. The damage to my arm is probably the worst. This is where they bandaged me in hospital as they thought I might have fractured it.'

Sarah, who called off her engagement to DJ Tom Crane in November, met Theo in rehab in Cape Town, South Africa, where she was treated for alcoholism and depression.

The singer also claims that even before their violent row that Theo was verbally aggressive.

'We met in rehab and I was at a real low in my life. We got on really well and he was a completely different person when we were in rehab,' she explained.

'We just decided to give it a go. When we came back to London, things just didn't seem to be the same."

'He was really, really horrible. Any insecurities I had, he used them against me. He was goading me. The abuse carried on and on and on till I'd had enough.'

Theo denies the allegations and maintains that it was Sarah who attacked him.

Both Sarah and Theo now face assault charges due to their allegations and injuries.
