Cheryl Cole bans booze from Girls Aloud Christmas lunch

By Lisa Potter  on Tuesday 20 December 2011

Cheryl Cole will be hosting a pre-Christmas lunch at her home for bandmates Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding this week, but has insisted it be a teetotal affair.

CHERYL COLE STYLE HIGHS AND LOWS

Following Sarah Harding's recent stint in rehab for alcohol-related problems, Cheryl is certain it won't be a drunken dinner but a chance to all catch up, and she's pulling out all the stops.

'Cheryl is going all out,' a source told The Sun newspaper.

'She has already ordered all the food and is determined to cook everything herself.

'She's doing the full works, turkey with all the trimmings, and the lunch table will be laid with Christmas crackers and other traditional decorations.

'But with Sarah having just left rehab, Cheryl doesn't want to make it into a drunken dinner so isn't planning on having any wine involved,' the insider added.

'It's just a chance for the girls to catch up with each other before Christmas.'

Fifth bandmate Nadine Coyle won't be joining the girls at the dinner table as she will be spending Christmas in the USA.

Sarah recently checked into a private clinic suffering from alcohol and depression issues, after splitting from fiancé Tom Crane earlier this year.

'I was so down but I tried to keep busy and, to numb myself, I was drinking more,' she told Hello! magazine. 'It was my way of escaping.'
