Keira Knightley 'just didn't go out' after Pirates fame

Most can only dream of the joys of being famous, the excitment, the money and the attention, but at the height of Pirates of the Caribbean mania Keira Knightley craved the one thing she couldn't have, anonymity.

The British actress has revealed that she couldn't leave her house after the release of the movie phenomenon and is thankful the intense media interest has now subsided.

'I was different then to now, you change with your experiences... but my level of fame is not as big as Brad Pitt’s, thankfully,' she revealed in an interview with the Mirror.

'At the time of the Pirates movies I had a crazy time where very simple things were very difficult.

'I had about 20 guys standing on my doorstep, so going for groceries became incredibly difficult. I just didn’t go out.'

She added: 'Since then, I’ve been doing different films and life has become easier. I can now walk through the lobby of a hotel.'

The stunning 26-year-old stole the show in a beautiful Roksanda Ilincic dress at the Leicester Square screening of her latest filmA Dangerous Method, last month.

 The movie is based on the turbulent relationships between psychoanalysts Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender) and Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) with Knightley playing Sabina Spielrein, a tragic but beautiful patient and pupil who comes between them.
