It’s been an exciting week for us Gleeks. First, Ryan Murphy confirmed Chord Overstreet would definitely be returning to the show as Sam, which certainly made our day just a little bit better.

And now there’s more! Now another Glee star is poised to make a comeback – this time Jonathan Goff, as Jesse St James.

According to E! news, the season two star, who played vocal coach of the group, New Directions – and Lea Michele’s one time love interest - will make an extra-special return to the show.

Bosses are yet to confirm how long the actor will be staying, although it’s thought he could make his first appearance during season three to play coach to rival Glee group Vocal Adrenaline.

Ryan Murphy confirmed the Gleeful news of Goff’s return to reprise his old role during a press event held to celebrate the filming of the 300th episode of the show.

And it seems the rest of the cast were absolutely thrilled.

Taking to Twitter to voice her excitement, Lea Michele A.K.A McKinley High's Rachel Berry wrote: 'So happy to have my best friend in the world Jonathan Groff back on #glee this year! Makes me the happiest girl in the world!'
