After the second Sex and the City movie hit screens last year, we thought Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda had probably hung up their Manolos for good. But it seems we might just have been wrong…
According to industry insiders, plans for a third movie have been put on hold – in favour of restarting the TV show, for a seventh season of the famous franchise.

It’s thought after many meetings, a TV comeback could really be in the offing, with Sarah Jessica Parker tipped as producer.
‘Ultimately Darren Star – the man who created the hit series – will have the overall say, but everyone is agreed a TV show is the direction they want to take the franchise in,’ one network insider told the Daily Mail.
'Sarah Jessica Parker will be producing. She was worried about doing another film after the bad reaction to the SATC2 movie, but a TV show is definitely something she wants to happen.’
Although it’s thought execs were working on a third movie, reports suggest these plans have now been put on hold.
‘They want to make the TV series before doing another film,’ the source added.
Earlier this month rumours of a SATC prequel began hotting up, with four up and coming actresses tipped to play our favourite four girls during their younger years.
It’s thought Elizabeth Olsen was favourite to play Carrie, while Gossip Girl Blake Lively would play man-eater Samantha, Selena Gomez Charlotte and Emma Roberts, Miranda.
