Stylish starlet Katie Holmes hit the red carpet in New York last night, stepping out at the premiere of her chilling new flick, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Showcasing a look from her very own collection, Katie walked the red carpet in a fail-safe Holmes & Yang LBD, alongside the film’s director, and her 11-year-old co-star Bailee Madison.

But hubby Tom Cruise was notably absent.

And know we know why.

While Ms Holmes was hard at work promoting her scary new movie, Mr Cruise was on Suri duty, and spent the day looking after the adorable five-year old.

The doting dad treated his little one to a daddy/daughter day out in the city, and the pair were spotted running several errands together, before heading back to their apartment.

Later in the evening Tom left little Suri at home, and joined his other half in the city for dinner, stopping at the swanky Lincoln Restaurant in New York’s Lincoln Centre.

Yesterday the pair were spotted leaving a Katy Perry concert in the city, after touching down earlier in the day in a private helicopter.
