Coldplay became the latest musicians to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse earlier this week, covering a section of the Jazz singer's famous Rehab hit during a festival performance in Australia.

The band were playing at the Splendour In The Grass music event when their impromptu tribute came about, during an introduction to track Fix You.

Front man Chris Martin sang just one chorus of the song before the hit, encouraging the crowd to sing along.

'There's little that can be said about Amy Winehouse's passing that hasn't already been said,' the band wrote in a message posted alongside the snippet on their website.

'It's just such a sad waste. We'll leave aside the awful irony and just let the Aussie choir sing.'
