Tesco to launch £30 Kate Middleton dress
By Eleanor Young on Friday 27 May 2011
When the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a £175 Reiss Shola dress to meet the Obamas earlier this week, the chic nude number sold out online in hours, with eager fans crashing the brand's website.
But if you weren't one of the lucky few to snap up Miss Middleton's stylish item, worry not...
KATE MIDDLETON’S HIGH STREET HITS
Tesco are launching their very own tribute to Kate’s bandage-style number, for the bargain price of just £30 - and it's hitting stores next month.
And while it might not be an exact copy of the Reiss dress - with a slightly higher neckline and longer sleeves - it captures that same flattering design and neutral colour which first had us clamouring to get our hands on Kate's choice.

‘Our customers love Kate’s look,’ Jan Marchant, Buying Director at Tesco explained.
'She is now a true style icon and flying the flag for British high street fashion. Our similar F&F limited edition bandage style dress at just £30 is expected to sell-out fast.
‘Many women want to emulate her elegant look and we are delighted to offer Kate inspired pieces at affordable prices.

Sorry! but this dress is nothing like the one that Kate is wearing!
Comment by susie on May 27 13:21
That's not even slightly similar! And it's ugly.
Comment by Emma on May 27 13:35
This is soooooo tacky!!
Comment by Lou on May 27 13:36
The Tesco dress is nothing like Kate's dress. It has no similarity at all
Comment by angie on May 27 13:52
I agree, the only similarity is that it is a dress!!!
Comment by wendy turner on May 27 14:07
this second dress should never be compared to the first one. Without the flattering neckline or cute sleeves, it's just an ugly stepsister to the original. Yuck! Not worth that cheap price tag imo!!
Comment by cathy on May 27 14:10
It looks totally different and won't hsve the same effect when worn. Can't imagine there will be a mad rush for this!
Comment by magz on May 27 14:19

Comment by kayleigh on May 27 14:21
I utterly agree, Susie. They could have tried a little harder.

Comment by char on May 27 14:38
Who are Tesco trying to kid, this dress is horrid. Kate would not be seen in anything as tacky as this.
Comment by Pauline Appleton on May 27 14:50
omg this dress is lush, i hope it comes in other colours!
Comment by betty on May 27 14:53
Ewwww! That is so unsimilar you would not even recognise it as a copy of Kates dress! Bad move- it is horrid :(
I wish a good copy of the blue dress was available too! I love her style, spot on. x
Comment by Louise on May 27 15:23
I think it is a nicer dress than the one Kate is wearing!
Comment by Hannah Dyson on May 27 16:23
I think it's lovely. It might not be a true 'copy' but its smart, on trend in nude, and will suit many body shapes.
Comment by Lulu on May 28 19:47
Well the colour is similar, but the design isn't. Still looks like nice dress.
Comment by Margaret on May 29 15:14
Oh dear do my eyes deceive me.. these dresses have nothing in common, maybe just the colour. The neckline and sleeves are not the same. Where is the bandage effect.. Im sorry but it looks nothing like Kate's dress which is a real shame.
Comment by Ange Roberts on May 30 17:28
Well done Tesco! Sure, its not like Kates dress - and probably too high necked for me, but will still look great on someone with Kates figure. (Lets face it - she'd look good wearing a binbag!)
