Jay-Z praises Beyonce after unplugged American Idol rehearsal

They’ve never even confirmed their relationship, let alone their marriage, and power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z are rarely pictured out and about together.

But Bey’s usually private hubby just couldn’t help gushing about her talents earlier this week, after posting a video of the super-songstress rehearsing backstage.

The singer was preparing for her performance on the final American Idol show, where she debuted new single 1+1, before treating fans to old favourite Crazy in Love.

Rehearsing in her dressing room with no microphone, no sound effects and just a piano for company, Bey’s powerful performance was absolutely note perfect.

So we’re not actually surprised that Jay-Z couldn’t resist saying a word or two in praise of his wife.

‘Sometimes you need perspective,’ he wrote on the LifeandTimes website alongside the video, titled pregame, he filmed on his phone.

‘You’ve been right in front of greatness so often that you need to step back and see it again for the first time.

‘This is the dressing room rehearsal for American Idol. NO MICROPHONE. No effects.’
