With Victoria and David Beckham's baby girl on the way this summer, the fashion fabulous twosome have understandably turned their attentions to choosing a name for the new tot.

But the pair have been faced with a dilemma, according to reports, after Victoria used their favourite girls name – Coco – for their pampered British Bulldog pooch instead.

Now Posh and Becks are frantically hunting for another name for the new baby, but are still struggling to come up with a favourite.

‘For years Victoria planned on calling her first girl Coco, after iconic French fashion designer, Coco Chanel,’ one insider revealed.

‘But after three boys, and a gap of almost six years after her last son, Cruz, she simply decided she would never be blessed with a daughter and decided to give the name to the couple's female bulldog.’

‘They’ve spent hours with baby books but nothing trumps Coco,’ another insider told the Mirror.

Rumour has it the pair are now considering naming their new addition Luna, which is Spanish for moon.

Victoria first spoke of her love of the name back in 2004, while pregnant with third child, Cruz.

'I love the word Luna,' she revealed at the time, hinting she and hubby David might use it in the future. 'I know it's a girl's name - so maybe for the next baby.'

What do you think Posh and Becks will name their baby? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.

Who cares !! You have to wonder at the mentality of some of these stars. Do they actually think about the child and the ridiculous names they saddle them with? I know they live on another planet to the rest of us but there is no consideration for the children at all and children will always be children in the playground !

I think they should call her Peckham.
Comment by Brambles on March 31 12:56

Alayna - I dreamt that they called her Alayna.

Luna, in itself, isn't as bad as many but has she thought of what kids at school will call her? Loony springs to mind immediately. Time for a rethink?

... Chavelina
Comment by Katherine coats on March 31 13:21

Exactly - who cares?! In the same New York vein as Brooklyn they could go for Jersey or Queens or even Harlem! Or continuing the Romeo theme they could go for Juliet, or the Cruz theme - Santa or Penelope - whatever it is - it's bound to be ridiculous!

Not sure what criteria Susan is using to decide that the Spanish name Luna is "ridiculous" when her own Middle Eastern name Susan is not. Is she basing this judgement on how 'common' or otherwise a name is? Surely every name starts with the first person to be given it. What makes one name "ridiculous" and another acceptable? I would have thought it purely down to taste and social circles.

...and Susan if you don't care about Victoria Beckham's new baby...why trouble yourself with reading the article and making a comment?

If Victoria Beckham really wants to name her baby girl after designer Chanel why not use her real name and call her Gabrielle? Coco Chanels real name!
Comment by Brenda on March 31 14:03

It just reminds me of the character from Harry Potter!
Comment by Kat on March 31 14:07

"WHO CARES" well you two obviously or you would not have bothered to comment on the article!
Comment by nannyof9 on March 31 14:11

Red herring... i don't think they'll give anything away until the birth... and it will be far less predictable!
Comment by Alex on March 31 14:14

Well I think 1 of Lampard's daughters is called Luna - but then her mum is Spanish - so before they lumber their child with a strange foreign name they must make sure the translation into English does not make that child a laughing stock. For example - in my country Santa Cruz (and no I'm not Spanish but we have derived a lot of Spanish vocabulary from people who ruled us!!!)means Holy Crucifix but if you're a girl you will be called Krucifissa (Crucifixa) which sounds dreadful!!! Can you imagine going thru life being called that?????
Comment by Cate on March 31 16:45

beyonce beckham
Comment by tinie on March 31 17:27

Cuna Beckham. Cuna derived from Coco and Luna. Or Ildiko (pronounced: eel-dee-ko).
Comment by Ildiko on March 31 17:53

How about saffron a pretty name and a very posh spice. After what happened to poor Amanda Holden I just wish Victoria a safe delivery.
Comment by nannabee on March 31 20:01

Well, whatever the sprog is named, you can bet your life that a million copycats will be yelled at in supermarkets up and down the country. One certainty, it wont be named Chardonnay or Porsche!
