Britney facing $10 million lawsuit
By Rebecca Cope on Thursday 31 March 2011
Things have been looking up for Britney Spears recently, with her new fitness regime and upcoming Femme Fatale tour. But now the Toxic star has landed herself in hot water again. The 29-year-old songstress is being sued in connection to her perfume Radiance – for $10 million.

The mother-of-two has a perfume deal with beauty giants Elizabeth Arden, worth a whopping $15 million a year. Radiance is the ninth scent she has released, and recently featured in her Hold It Against Me video.
Disagreements first arose surrounding the 35 per cent commission that Brand Sense Partner LLC contractually command on all sales of Britney's perfumes.
Brit’s father Jamie, who still acts as her conservator, was reportedly unhappy with the high commission on the fragrance, claiming Britney didn’t want to pay it. A compromise was reached with Britney receiving the royalties on this particular scent directly.
Last month, Elizabeth Arden sent a letter to Brand Sense and Britney with the revised royalties – where it emerged that her latest fragrance had been excluded.
Along with her father Jamie Britney stands accused of breach of contract, fraud and deceit, as well as being ‘sneaky and underhand’ for trying to cut Brand Sense out of a licensing agreement.
The court documents state: 'Britney secretly made a separate deal with Elizabeth Arden in a sneaky underhanded effort to circumvent and evade its obligations to Brand Sense.
'Effectively, Britney improperly and illegally cut Brand Sense out of the Elizabeth Arden deal.’
