Oscar-winner Natalie Portman has spoken out against disgraced Dior designer John Galliano, expressing her 'shock' and 'disgust,' after a video of his anti-Semitic rant surfaced online yesterday.

The famous fashion house’s head designer was arrested in Paris last week, for an alleged assault and anti-Semitism, after ‘verbally accosting’ a couple seated on a café terrace.

And Dior were quick to confirm they had suspended Galliano from his duties at the French fashion house following the incident - just days before the Autumn/Winter 2011 show in Paris.

'Dior affirms with the utmost conviction its policy of zero tolerance towards any anti-Semitic or racist words or behaviour,’ a spokesman for the company said. ‘Pending the results of the inquiry, Christian Dior has suspended John Galliano from his responsibilities.'

And after a shocking video of his racist rant surfaced online, today things went from bad to worse for the design star, who was formally sacked from his job.

Now Oscar-winner, and face of Dior’s Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, Natalie Portman has spoken out against Galliano in an official statement, revealing her disgust at his actions.

‘I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today,’ Natalie said in a statement.

‘In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way.

‘I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.’

Her comments about Galliano are totally expected. I am glad that she has taken a stance on what has happened. I think that one can expect her to react this way. What is great is that she has been clear in her statements that this has nothing to do with Dior, but rather purely Galliano. Dior has proven their policies on this issue by reacting so quickly to have him suspended.

It's a damn shame... To have one of your heroes deeply disappoint you. I have loved Galliano's work for years. To be shown he is a horrible individual is disappointing and sad. His tirade of abuse just show him to be an ignorant, jumped up little prick... maybe we always knew he was, but forgave him because of his genius work. But this is too much. Galliano, you are still my fashion king but your ignorant outlook on life lost my support

I wonder what she has to say about Charlie Sheen's comment when he called Chuck Lorre "Chaim Levine".
