Uh-oh. It’s thought Katie Price and Peter Andre could be gearing up for a custody battle, amid a police investigation over child abuse. Peter has allegedly applied for sole custody of children Princess and Junior, claiming ex-wife Katie is an unfit mother.

The fight first began brewing earlier this month, after three-year-old Princess suffered a minor burn, while on holiday with Katie in Klosters.

Peter blasted Katie – in a stinging public statement – for keeping him in the dark when his daughter sustained the small injury, while Miss Price continued the war of words, accusing her ex-husband of trying to ‘score points’ and ‘portray her as a bad mother’.

Last week the incident became a whole lot more serious, after it was revealed someone had contacted the police, who stepped in to investigate over child abuse claims.

In a statement on her website, Katie said she had been cooperating fully with the investigation, and was hoping to draw a line under the incident.

‘I don't want to say any more about Princess's burn, or the claim that it is a 'bad' burn,’ she wrote. 'Shamefully someone has contacted the police about this and I have co-operated fully and provided evidence of just how minor this incident really was.'

Unfortunately, it seems Katie couldn’t resist the opportunity to make one more mention of her ex-hubby before putting the incident behind her.

'I accept that children have minor accidents as they grow up and that is not something to try to point score about – I wish my ex-husband would do the same,’ she wrote.

Following Katie’s comments, Peter hit back with his own statement. ‘I will not be accused of using an accident to gain publicity by Kate. That is completely untrue,’ it read.

Now Peter has allegedly launched a Family Court application, in a bid to become full-time carer of the two children.

A spokesmen for the star has yet to comment.

The pair of them needs their heads knocking together. If they both put as much effort into working on an amicable relationship as they do to publicising their wretched squabbles everyone concerned would be much better off for it.

Someone has to be the adult here and it's not meant to be princess!! The fact that Kates ample bust was never used for it's intended purpose may give some insight into her maternal priorities

I usually am on the side of the female in these cases but in mrs reids case I am more than willing to make an exception I believe these THREE Children would be better off with anyone other than the person they have the misfortune to call mum

Peter Andre is a disgrace. Katie is a fantastic mother, and if need be this would soon become clear to anybody investigating it. Peter's manager has way too much influence over him, and he should stop being so childish. If he really did care for the kids then he would realise this won't help them, and they won't thank him in the future. This another desperate attempt from Peter and his management to get more attention, which he does regularly, such as releasing a video deliberately to the press. He needs to sort out his priorities, it should be Dad first, not fame.

Peter wants custody of the kids because he can than live ''financially'' well of by Katie's monthly maintenance payments... Peter is a nasty little man. He claims Katona is a great mother but we all know how wrong he is there, the man does not sound ''all there'' does he?

she's not fit to have care of children neither of them seem to care about the damage theyre doing to these children, but I think they'd be better off with pete at least he would allow them to be children and not pedophile bait.

It is time for peter to grow up and stop listening to his manager and all these women surrounding him.IF TRULY PETE LOVE AND ADORE HIS KIDS,THEN PETE SHOULD STOP THIS TYPE OF BHAVIOUR NOW.BCOS THE KIDS WILL NEVER LOVE U,PETE FOR DRAGGING THEIR MUM IN THE MUD...KATIE IS A GREAT MUM...IRRESPECTIVE OF WHAT EVER HAPPENED.

I think it very unlikely that Peter Andre is battling for custody over just a burn, He would have been needing to build his case for months becuase that's the way the family court system in the UK works. As I see it KP is 100% personality disordered, along with about 15% of the population. The damage that can be done to the children of these people can be immense. Personally if they were my kids I would certainly fight for custody, primarily for their future emotional health.

I think any child should be with the perant that can spend the most time with them and not dumping them of with family members or child minders.
A child needs to build a bond with the person bringing it up and that should be the perant as the perant will be there for always, a child minder is not as they are oftern changed as the child grows up.
