Cricket star Shane Warne flaunted his budding relationship with Brit Elizabeth Hurley to followers on Twitter yesterday, by asking for ideas on the ‘sexiest’ place he could take his new beau for lunch.

The pair hooked up amid rumours of scandal back in December, both confirming the end of their respective marriages, days after they were pictured kissing at a London hotel.

Now it seems Shane is keen to make the new relationship official, and is pulling out all the stops to impress his latest lady.

Earlier this week, the famous cricketer was said to be stepping up security at his Australian home ahead of Liz’s visit, and workmen were even spotted boarding up railings in front of the sprawling mansion, to afford the pair more privacy.

But it seems the sporting star missed a vital trick when planning Liz’s stay – he forgot to arrange any lunch plans.

Realising his mistake, he took to Twitter to ask followers for recommendations, requesting the ‘sexiest’ place to take his new beau.

'Where is the sexiest place to take Elizabeth for lunch ? Suggestions please ? Chapel St ? Crown ? And no - not for spaghetti on toast !!!’ he wrote, later adding: Ps for the record - my so called big delivery to my house was not a matress it was a coffee table, sorry to disappoint!’

Unfortunately, it seems Shane’s request for date suggestions backfired, as he and Elizabeth were then tailed by papperazzi the second they left his luxurious pad.

Taking to Twitter once again – this time to vent his frustration, he wrote: ‘Apologies to anyone driving on the rd & witnessing the ridiculous behavior by irresponsible photographers trying to get a pic !!!!’

‘Ps I'm not complaining by the way, but I fear that someone could seriously get hurt on the rd as the photographers are so irresponsible,’ he later added.

It's hilarious! But just a rebound for Liz, and re-re-re-re ad infinitum bound for Shane..... but looks like the two of them (let's face it, has-beens....) still know how to have fun. Good for them. Of course it won't last, Warnie's ego wouldn't handle it for long, he's already off playing a round of golf while she waits in the clubhouse.... and what about Damien? he has stated he wants to remain an only child. Wake up Liz!

why publicly let the paps know that he's going on dates with her and not expect them to follow? he's leading them right to him by upping security and bragging about taking her out to lunch! Jacqu's right, they're both hasbeens and he's probably actually pleased to be getting all the media attention
