After endless engagement rumours, Kate Moss gave the clearest sign yet she’s set to marry rocker Jamie Hince last week, stepping out sporting a rather large engagement sparkler. Now it’s been revealed Kate’s beau spent months hunting for the special ring, inspired by Kate’s idol, Zelda Fitzgerald.
According to reports, Jamie tried to track down the original diamond dazzler owned by the twenties icon – and wife of American novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald - but in the end found sketches of the ring, and had a jeweller design a similar one instead.
And it seems the super had been dropping hints about the diamond owned by Zelda, who died in 1948.
'Kate had mentioned the ring before – Zelda had talked about it in her diary.'
'The big 'kapow' moment between them happened in Paris. They see it as their place,’ the insider added.
‘She knows Zelda spent a lot of time there and, in the spirit of the ring, Kate is talking about having the whole wedding themed around the 1920s.’
It’s thought Miss Moss has already started considering venues, and could opt for a vintage wedding dress.
'She wants a vintage gown and that will avoid offending anyone by picking one particular designer,' the source revealed.
‘An old-fashioned hotel like the Ritz in Paris is the kind of venue she has in mind and of course Claridge's in London is on the table.’
The pair first met backstage at a Kills gig in 2007, and save for a few brief break-ups, have been together ever since.
No official word has yet come from the couple.
