Blooming actress Kate Hudson is engaged to Muse rocker boyfriend Matt Bellamy, and celebrated the news in secret with a London bash for friends and family, according to reports.

The actress confirmed her pregnancy earlier this month, revealing she and her British beau were 'excited' to be expecting their first child together.

And now it seems we could soon be hearing the sound of wedding bells, after insiders suggest the pair have become secretly engaged.

And after popping the question in the States, Kate and Matt jetted straight to the UK to celebrate with family and friends, and were spotted being whisked through Heathrow airport earlier this week.

It’s thought the excited couple made straight for a swanky London hotel, where they held a small engagement bash.

'It was an intimate party,' one insider revealed to the Sun. 'They kept their engagement secret as they wanted to celebrate with their nearest and dearest before it became public knowledge.’

The couple were joined at the party by Kate's mother Goldie Hawn.

The veteran star recently spoke of her excitement at the upcoming addition to the family, telling US Magazine: 'I'm excited! It's exciting. We're just all very happy... happy for them both.'

Kate and Matt began dating last summer, after Matt split with Italian fiancée Gaia Polloni, and Kate split with American baseball player, Alex Rodriguez.
