Lily's Christmas Day proposal

Lily Allen is the latest celebrity to get us all excited this Christmas with the news that she and boyfriend Sam Cooper are engaged.

Lily, 25, and Cooper, 32, began their romance in the summer of 2009.

In August this year, Lily announced that she was pregnant but then suffered a miscarriage in November. It was the singer's second miscarriage - her first was when she was linked to Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers in 2008.

The singer and fashion star has described Cooper, a builder and decorator, in as 'the love of my life,' and is said to have  accepted the proposal 'instantly'.


According to reports in the Daily Mail and The Sun, Cooper popped the question on Christmas Day on the balcony of their £800-a-night suite at the exclusive Amankila resort in Bali at sunset.

Once Lily had said 'yes', the couple are said to have celebrated in the hotel's bar, treating fellow guests to champagne and cocktails.

'They could not keep the smiles off their faces,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'It couldn't have been more romantic. The resort is just so peaceful and picturesque.'

Lily's representatives are yet to comment on the report but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
