Sharon Osbourne slams Cheryl Cole's chances of US success

Earlier this month, the rumor mill went into overdrive with reports Cheryl Cole had landed a sought-after spot on the US X Factor, and was set to leave the UK. In fact, Simon Cowell’s pal Sinitta seemingly confirmed the news. Now Sharon Osbourne's waded into the debate, revealing she doesn’t think Mrs C will make it big in America.

Simon Cowell has reportedly signed the star up to appear on the American show when it launches next year, and is also said to have lined up ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger for a role, after being impressed by her when she stood in for Cheryl earlier this year.
But ex-X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne is skeptical about the move, and thinks only Nicole will cut it with US viewers, who won’t know who Cheryl is.
'Cheryl’s perfect for England – she’s the nation’s sweetheart and they absolutely love her,' Sharon told Now.'
'But over here [in the US] it’s Nicole’s town.You have to think of the audience and most of them would never have heard of Girls Aloud.
'Nicole’s great TV, has a huge following here in the States and people absolutely love her. Plus she’s beautiful and talented.'

And Sharon doesn’t think Cheryl will achieve success in the states over night.
'It takes a long time to make it in the States because it’s so huge,' she said, seemingly going on to confirm Mrs C’s move to the US.
'I think she’s made the right decision to move out here. She couldn’t just come over and do a show then pootle off'

I would rather Cheryl stay in the UK, she is brilliant.I know she wants to get away from things, but I think poor Cheryl will be lost in the US. She is a family/friendly person and people in UK get her,and love her,and can feel her emotions. I do wish her well.

OK I'm not Cheryl Coles biggest fan but honestly I wish that awful Osbourne woman would just shut up and disappear. Isn't Cheryl Cole quite well known in the states becuase of Will.i.am? Also if she is going to go on one if the biggest shows in America, isn't that going to make her quite well known? Cat Deely was unknown in the states until she appeared as a host on so you think you can dance.
Maybe Cheryl can take a leaf out of Sharon's book and become famous in the states by being foul mouthed, mean to and about other people and having a dysfunctional family. Awful woman.

Can she never be happy for anyone - Sharon is the most bitter, jealous and mean women in show biz. All she does when she says these things is make herself look like the mean spirited woman she is. I am sure Cheryl will do well with Simon behind her.

Sharon's not really jealous that XF didn't fall apart at the seam's after she left then, but has in fact gone from strength to strength and is more succesful than ever?!
Exactly what expertise and credibility did she bring to XF other than the fact she was/is Ossie's manager and wife, her 'success' is attributed to The Osbourne's...and not any talent that she personally has. At least Cheryl has been through a similar process to the XF contestants, she has been in a very successful band, she has had recent success as a solo artist and has worked with some big well known names such as Will.i.am and Take That. With the power of You Tube, downloads, internet and tv (we get Americal Idol her so I'm assuming US get our XF?) I'm sure the Americal public are well aware of who Cheryl Cole is...put your claws away Mrs O!!

There is much truth to what she's saying but if there's one way to make it in the US over night it's by being a judge on this show. Plus, I have a feeling the Americans will find Cheryl out of this world with her accent, and they might fall in love with the puppy eyes and bright smile.

Sharon O is just being her horrible nasty self, she is not happy unless she is slagging someone off, is it any wonder people get the wrong idea about her children I believe the daughter that stays out of the limelight made the right choice. Who in their right mind would want to admit she was their mother. Maybe thats why her and louie get on so well, he is a B**** as well

If Victoria Beckham and Piers Morgan can make it in the US, then so can Cheryl, no problem, esp. with the Simon Cowell machine behind her.
As for Sharon Osbourne,she's entitled to her opinion and all she's really saying is that it could take Cheryl time to crack the US because she's not known there, which is probably true.
Don't forget, more than 99% of everything we hear from celebrities is PR led, we're only told what they want us to hear. So while Sharon's comments might sound bitchy, it's all just a part of the big game!

I've never known anyone as bitter and jealous as her, typical nasty middle aged woman syndrome. Plus her gobby daughter seems to be following in her footsteps....... Regardless of whether Cheryl makes it or not (and I think she will) she can console herself with the fact that she'll never be as vile as that Osbourne woman.
