It’s a girl for 'delighted' Rachel Stevens

'Delighted' pop star Rachel Stevens gave birth to a baby girl at the exclusive Portland Hospital in London yesterday.

The ex-S Club 7 singer and her hubby Alex Bourne welcomed bouncing baby Amelie at 2:45 in the morning.

'Rachel Stevens and Alex Bourne are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Amelie,' a spokesman for the star said in a statement.

'She arrived this morning at 2.05am. Mother and baby are both doing really well.'

The pair married in a glittering ceremony last year, and announced their baby news in May. And although they didn’t know the sex of little Amelie, they already suspected they were having a girl.

‘Neither of us mind what we have but most people think that I’m having a girl, but I really don’t know,' she said at the time.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
