Lily Allen suffers second miscarriage

A spokesman for Lily Allen has today confirmed the heartbreaking news that the singer has suffered a miscarriage, and lost her second baby.

Lily – who was six months pregnant with boyfriend Sam Cooper’s child – is said to have been rushed to hospital on Thursday with severe stomach pain.

And although every effort was made to save her unborn baby, it was confirmed ‘with great sadness’ that the couple sadly lost the child.

‘It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby,’ an official statement read.

‘The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made’.

This is the second tragic miscarriage the star has suffered. Back in December 2007 Lily revealed she was pregnant with then-boyfriend, Chemical Brother Ed Simmons’ baby, but lost the baby the following month.

What a shame. I think many people felt for her the first time and were happy that now life was good with her again. Hope she gets the support she will need to pick herself up from this and keep moving forward. Thinking of you both x

So sad to hear this news... to lose a baby this late in pregnancy... I am so sorry for them and hope that the public will respect their loss and leave them in peace. All my love to Lily and Sam.

How soul destroying...I am so very sorry for her she was in a very happy place lately with her new business. how deeply sad for both of them.. These tragic things happen and I hope that in time hers and his world will be colourful once again...I wish them strength to not give up and go forward...

So sad for Lily's tragic loss. I lost a baby at 5 1/2 months this year and it is devastating. Time will heal.
