X Factor fans were up in arms on Sunday evening, when MOBO Award-winning singer John Adeleye was sent home, ahead of eccentric (and mostly out of tune) singer Brazillian Wagner. Now it’s been revealed music insiders are plotting to keep him in the show, and have set up facebook protest groups trying to help him win.

Louis’ novelty act has treated judges to performances of Spice up Your Life and Livin' La Vida Loca in the past few weeks, but on a technical note, they’ve been less than impressed with his performances.

Dannii Minogue told the singer she had trouble understanding him, while last week Cheryl declared: 'There was a lot of guilty going on up there. I don't know if there was a lot of pleasure for me.'

But despite his shaky singing, Wagner inexplicably sailed through to the next round.

Now The Sun has revealed music fans have been joining Facebook groups in their thousands, determined to stage an X Factor protest and keep the singer in the competition.

One fan, a member of group ‘X-Factor protest - Wagner To Win’ said: ‘I voted five times but I promise I will vote ten times next week.'

Another wrote: 'If you just fancy a really crazy Xmas number 1 this year... vote Wagner!!! If you despise all what the X Factor stands for, vote Wagner!'

Last year music fans set up a similar campaign, waging war against X Factor winner Joe McElderry, and sending metal band Rage Against The Machine to Christmas number one in protest.
