Stars force director to ditch Mel Gibson from The Hangover sequel

Mel Gibson has been ditched from the cast of The Hangover 2 because the film's stars refused to work with the famous actor.

The Braveheart star was set to join Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms in the return of the hit comedy, but it’s thought that the cast objected to appearing alongside him.

Earlir this year he was accused of domestic abuse towards his ex-girlfriend, and the bitter case has yet to go to court.

‘I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of (Warner Brothers boss) Jeff Robinov and his team,' director Todd Phillips revealed of the lineup change.

‘But I realise filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.’

Earlier in October, star Zach Galifianakis revealed in a podcast that he wasn't happy about a decision by the producers - although he didn’t say what it involved.

The actor said: ‘I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to (listen)... I'm not making any leeway.’

Don't worry about it Mel. The first movie and the 2 main "stars" Bradley and Zach are over-rated. Hypocrisy is alive and well, especially considering that Mel has not been charged with anything and Oksana is about to go down for extortion.

Ahh that's not fair, if anyone actually looks at the evidence of this case its clear what she was doing...
Or maybe it was because of that whole drunken jewish rant thing?? Ahhh that was hilarious..

Long live Mel!!!

Judge Mel on his comic acting ..he was great in Lethal Weapon and What Women Want...would have added to it...pathetic...Whats one thing got to do with the other. What a shame. No one will ever know what happened with his wife and also one more chance wouldnt hurt.

...Will add that it would be sad if Mel disappeared prematurely from the screen..Its all so sad...whatever the circumstances.. I hope it can be resolved.

Mel's finally getting what he deserves. The free pass is expired and he has to answer for all his bad behavior. His firing is good because it sets a precedent, other casts can do the same thing. He needs to face facts, no one wants to work with him. Leo DiCaprio also pulled out of that Viking film Mel was going to direct. They won't release his film The Beaver, his career is over.
