Princess Beatrice in 'traumatising' car crash
By Abby Tayleure on Wednesday 13 October 2010
Princess Beatrice was left 'traumatised and tearful' after her BMW was crushed between a coach and a bus as she drove near Buckingham Palace.
On Monday afternoon the young royal and her bodyguard walked away unhurt but shaken from her car, when it was involved in an accident on Hyde Park Corner as she left St Jame’s Palace.
A source told the Mail that the princess was 'traumatised and tearful' after the crash.
They added: 'Beatrice was
sandwiched and her cherished car was pretty badly damaged on both
sides... she was in tears and traumatised. She had a lucky escape.'

Bea and her sister Eugenie both have police protection while they attend university, thought to cost about a quarter of a million pounds a year.

A Scotland Yard source said: ‘Incidents like this illustrate how important it is that they are protected. It could have been a very difficult situation if she had been alone and someone had taken advantage of the chaos.'
She was later spotted partying with long term boyfriend Dave Clark at a Tatler bash at the Phillips de Pury auction house.

What a load of rubbish about needing a bodyguard for just such an eventuality. If her parents feel she needs protection they should pay for it themselves not rely on those of us paying tax. She cannot have been that traumatised if she was partying with her boyfriend. No doubt her "cherished car" will quickly be replaced by Daddy. I have not time for these hangers on who moan about incidents that happen to ordinary people every day.

"Traumatised" but totally able to carry on her duties by appearing at a party later that day ... hmmm. I dont want to be mean about the crash, it's just that it doesn't quite all up.

I agree with Hannah, why should the cost of the bodyguards be paid for by the tax payer, let Mummy and Daddy pay for it, also time it was realised how many hangers on there are and cut out most of them let them live on a wage like the rest of us have too.

In these times she and sis prob do need bodyguards ..but think it should come out of Palace..cash...didnt someone once try and grab Princess Anne way back in the 70s?? out of her car...?? These girls only live the way they were and are brought up..but cant have been that soul destroying re the car to go partying..ho hum.. ..prob was very scarey but you court bad press .with statements like that and followed on with a party. And still..how much of what happened was added to in the press

I to agree with Hannah, about time we weeded them out, and let them live a normal life without all the tax payers money helping them.
I have never been a big fan of any of the royal family, and this is down to the tax payer paying for them, let them get a poper hard working job and earn a wage.
