It’s said bosses are desperate to sign the Hollywood beauty – who’s already being tipped for an Oscar for her role in upcoming ballet thriller, Black Swan – alongside director Darren Aronofsky, after Ben Affleck dropped out of the directing role.
'They wanted her first time around, this time they can get her - with Darren,’ one insider told film site, Moviehole of Natalie’s role, adding that they had ‘nothing on paper yet.'
The remake of the classic flick – reportedly titled Man of Steel – is set to be a star-studded affair, and could be produced by Christopher Nolan, of Batman fame.
The main man is yet to be announced, but it’s thought Mad Men star Jon Hamm could step into the shoes as the famous superhero.

She should have played Lois in Superman Returns. Portman would be awesome. Kate Bosworth didn't do very well in the role, she only got the part because Kevin Spacey convinced the director to give her the role.
I just hope they don't make the same mistake this time around with re-casting Lois Lane. Please nobody like Kate Bosworth. As much as I like Natalie, I don't think she will accept the role this time because she has done too many big budget films and will probably veer away and do smaller movies.
I think Claire Danes, Anne Hathaway, Rachel McAdams, Jessica Biel, Rebecca Hall, or someone along those lines.
