Tess Daly opens up on Vernon Kay's sex text scandal

Strictly star Tess Daly has opened up on her heartbreak over husband Vernon Kay’s sex text scandal, revealing it’s been a 'difficult year' for the famous family.

Vernon admitted sending racy messages to up to five girls back in February, including 24-year-old page 3 model, Rhian Sugden.

And now Tess has spoken out about the scandalous series of events, defending her decision to get back with the DJ and TV presenter.

‘It has, of course, been a difficult year and of course it shakes the foundations of what you believe in, but you learn from it,’ she said.

‘We were able to move on because we both want the same things – we want a loving family together.’

Tess also spoke of her parents' happy marriage, adding that she sees her commitment to Vernon as long-term.

‘Personally, I would not get married unless I thought, "This is it. We are in it for the long term," because otherwise there would be no point, you might as well date,’ she said.

‘So I have gone into marriage with that expectation, but also with high standards. When you've lived alongside it, that's what you expect.

At the time, Vernon apologized for the sordid scandal, saying: I knew it was getting silly, I'm never going to do it again and hopefully I can clear the slate clean and start again.

'I've been an idiot and I've let my family down.'

They very rarely change. My now ex husband said he would never do it again when I first found out and I had the "I want us to be a family" thing. He did it again....... I divorced him. From that day to this (6yrs) he has never bothered to see the children!!! And the woman he was having the affair with left him. So sad....I have a new life and an amazing man, who is more of a father to my children than their natural father.

You might think you've done the right thing but it will haunt you every day for the rest of your life ... will he or won't he ... has he or hasn't he after all you trusted him once and he betrayed that trust. TRUST is a special gift you give to someone someone special someone you trust. If either of you break that trust it's gone forever and YOU WILL NEVER FULLY TRUST HIM AGAIN AND YOU KNOW THATS TRUE and you will ask yourself why why why over and over again GOOD LUCK YOU MAY BE THE LUCKY ONE

How many men get caught out this way, unfortunately they can't help themselves. Men get a thrill out of girls flirting with them and that is far as it goes, but then you get others that go that bit further. So Tess has done the right thing and moved on and I am sure Vernon has learnt a big lesson.
