Twilight's Taylor Lautner refuses push-up challenge
By Eleanor Young on Wednesday 1 September 2010
In the latest of a bizarre series of events, the owner of a trailer company being sued by Twilight’sTaylor Lautner has challenged him to a push-up contest to resolve the dispute.

Just weeks ago, Taylor started legal proceedings against McMahon's RV in California, after a dispute over a customised trailer.
The Hollywood hot star was reportedly planning to use the specially designed vehicle on the set of his latest flick Abduction, but has been unable to relax in his new $300,000 toy, as the dealership failed to deliver it by the deadline of 21 June.
So Mr Lautner promptly filed a lawsuit against the company for damages, reportedly claiming breach of contract and fraud, adding the late delivery caused him emotional distress.
But it seems McMahon's RV didn’t take his claim too seriously, with its owner instead challenging the Twilight star to a ‘push-up contest’ to settle their differences.

Brent McMahon said he would hand over the damages if Taylor won the muscle contest, but would give the cash to charity if he lost.
But we’re not sure the idea went down too well. Team Taylor has rejected the challenge, with lawyers insisting the move demonstrates the trailer company’s ‘lack of professionalism’.

'MCMahon RV's response to our client's legitimate claim further demonstrates the lack of professionalism that Mr. MCMahon, his company, and his employees have exhibited from the outset, and that compelled the filing of this lawsuit in the first place,' a statement from Mr Lautner's legal team read.
Taylor’s legal team do, however, 'welcome the opportunity for him to resolve the matter by making a $40,000 donation to the charity of Mr. Lautner's choice.'

Sarah Kelly Taylor is not asking to get the trailor for free, he is just sueing them for $40,000 and the trailor costs $300,000 the trailor was 2 months late and it had safety risks, to be honest i would sue if that happened to me anyone would. Taylor is also not taking the $40,000 for himself he's giving it away to charity, thats quite nice in my opinion.

i must edmit suing and claiming the late delivery caused him 'emoutional distress' does seem a bit too far fetched...

This whole debacle is totally ridiculous! Some people (no names mentioned!) take themselves so seriously, have such MASSIVE egos and hugely inflate their own importance! They don't know the meaning of what it is to be emotionally distressed! It's a pathetic disgrace and reveals poor parenting - they should try living in the real World like the rest of us have to!! I at least hope that some benefit to charity comes as a result of it all!
