After months of speculation, disgraced golfer Tiger Woods and his estranged wife Elin Nordegren have finalised their divorce, reaching a settlement, which could see Elin walk away with almost half Tiger’s £650 million fortune.

In a show of unity, the couple attended court in Florida together yesterday for a 10-minute hearing, during which the marriage was reportedly described as ‘irretrievably broken’.
'We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future,' the pair said in a statement, released by lawyers.
Although no details of the settlement have been released, it’s thought the pair will share custody of their two children, Sam, 3 and 18-month-old Charlie.

'While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us,' the statement continued.
'Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being.
'The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.'

Reports suggest Elin – who has reportedly been rewarded for remaining quiet on the matter – could walk away from the settlement with anything from £65 million upwards.
It’s also thought the Swedish former model will keep the family’s waterfront Florida home, and their holiday home in Sweden.
