American dancing star Derek Hough is reportedly looking to make a permanent move to the UK, and is set to move in with Cheryl Cole while he looks for a pad.

Derek will also be on hand to nurse sickly Cheryl back to health, as she continues her recovery from malaria.

The X Factor songstress is said to have invited her BFF to stay at her swanky pad while he meets execs and show producers, all keen to launch his UK career.

'She's more than happy to have him move in. She is on her way back to full strength now and is looking forward to having a pal round to keep her company,' one pal told the Sun.

But it seems Cheryl may have a fight on her hands, as Simon Cowell has been laying down the law ahead of her return to work.

The media mogul has reportedly advised the star to stay away from Derek for now, urging her to employ a lifestyle coach to help her return to full health.

'He's demanded that she puts her love life on hold - he feels Derek is a distraction that she simply doesn't need. Derek is always hanging around on set with her and Cheryl is constantly trying to keep him happy,' one insider revealed.

'Simon wants Cheryl to accept more help, rather than try and battle on by herself.

'He told her everyone in the US has a lifestyle guru and that he will get someone to work with her.'

I'm a U.S. fan of Derek Hough's for a long time. He has always been kind and gracious to everyone he talks to on TV, and I've never read anything negative about him, except from tabloids and some rude people's comments. I think it's a shame he's gotten himself involved in the whole Cheryl/divorce thing. I wish he'd just leave England and let things cool down for awhile. If it's true love, it will last even if he and Cheryl are apart. Nevertheless, I wish him all the best.
