Lindsay Lohan to serve just nine days in jail
By Eleanor Young on Thursday 22 July 2010
Sorry star Lindsay Lohan could end up serving just nine days out of her sentenced 90 in jail, after officials reveal plans to release her early.
The pampered actress began her drink-driving sentence at Lynwood County Jail earlier this week, and was at first expected to serve a measly 23 days of her sentence.
But police documents reportedly show LiLo could be freed even earlier with good behaviour, due to prison overcrowding.
'The sentence keeps shrinking. The new estimate is she will be released after nine days if she behaves herself,' a prison officer told the Sun.
'The latest sheriff's documents are saying 14 days but she can knock a few more off that. I expect her to be out shortly after next weekend.'

I think it is setting a terrible example if she is released early, it isn't her first offense, and she has already proven that a slap on the wrist does not deter her from re offending,it will just prove to her and other young people that if you are rich enough and popular enough then you are above the law of the common people!

If she wasnt such a "celebrity"!!! and just your normal woman, would the sentence be different. I think so

Of course she should serve her full term - why is she so special? Clearly money still talks!! SHAME ON YOU AMERICA!!!

I think it is a disgrace that she is been released early, she is no different to any one else and should serve her full sentence.

She only spent just under 80 minutes in jail last time. I think it's disgraceful. She's broken the law; she needs to serve the allcated sentence.

This is shameful and a damning indictment on law & order. She should serve the full time. Her mug shot makes it look like she's actually enjoying the experience. Just hope she's not treating doing bird as a total joke.

I think she should serve her time like any other person has to. She committed the crime and she needs to be taught a lesson to respect the law. Just because shes well known doesn't give her the right to get off lightly she'll only do it again because she knows she can get away with it.

I think it's disgusting that celebs are able to blantly break the law over and over again and be given hours/ days in prison. If jails are so overcrowed then does that mean other women are having their prison terms reduced? Where is the justice? If she was a normal citizen she would have to serve the full sentence. What does she have to do to actually serve the full amount of time in prison?

she should pay the fulll price for the stuff she did

I agree with all comments listed so far!
She did the crime - she should serve the time! Money or no money, she's in the wrong.
As Val so rightly said - "Shame on you America!"

I'm not particularly impressed by her behaviour - however I do believe a lot of non violent offenders are released early from jail not only the rich and famous. Secondly I think a jail term is rather extreme - why not send her to a court decided rehab centre, and I suggest for longer than 90 days...

if they let her out she'll never learn...
